Adoration Group: We believe that Jesus is present in the Holy Communion of the Blessed Sacrament. He has promised us this at the Last Supper when He said – This IS my Body. He is there to be with and pray to and praise. The chapel in the office-rectory is open Fridays 9:30 a.m. ( After 9:00 a.m. Mass ) - 7:00 p.m. when Benediction is offered Access is through the office door at the back of the rectory house on 22 Wildflower. All Souls Parish Mass: Each year in November a special Mass is offered for the families of the departed from the previous year. Invitations are mailed and all are welcome.
Altar Society: Responsible for
the cleaning of the church linens.
Altar Servers:
Girls and boys who have received First Communion who serve God’s altar and
their parish at Mass.
Baptism Preparation:
Volunteer catechist teachers, couples that offer a witness to their faith
and the clergy lead monthly Baptism classes

Children’s
Liturgy of the Word:
The children are invited to their space for Scripturally-based
activities. Presently ministering at the 10:30 Mass. children in
Kindergarten to Grade 3 are welcome. They continue to follow the Mass,
only it is adopted to the lives and experiences of young children.

Fatima Nights:
On May 13, 1914 Mary, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to three children in
Portugal. On October 13 there occurred the great miracle of the
sun as ‘proof’. To honour Mary’s Son and the message of penance, prayer
and peace that Our Lady of Fatima spoke of the parish has prayers and
procession on May and October 13th

The puropse of the social Fundraising Committee is to build the
community of Holy Spirit Parish by providing opportunities for
parishioners to come together in a social setting. We are responsible
for events such as the St. Valentines Dance, Vincents Flea Market and

Habitat for Humanity: A
group of volunteers assist in building homes for the working poor. No
previous skills are required - just faith and action. There is a chapter in
Barrie and in Toronto.
Healing Masses:
Offered every two months at the parish. Music, homilies, blessings and
prayers.
Home and Hospital
Visitors: Parishioners visit the
sick and shut-ins of the parish at Roberta Place and Barrie Hospital. Many
are lonely and appreciate a warm smile and friendly visit. Training is
provided
Knights of Columbus:
Catholic men who host a wide variety of activities within the parish as
Coffee Sundays, Bazaar Yard Sale, Basketball Free throw, Roses for Life,
Men’s Retreats.
Lectors:
Readers who proclaim the Word of
God at Mass. a lector is the person who proclaims the first or second
reading at Mass. this person may also lead the reading of the Psalms at
Mass. WHO CAN BE A LECTOR?
Man, woman or young person.
A person who is baptized and confirmed.
A person in full communion with the Catholic Church
A person serious about the practice of their faith.
The lector must believe that Sacred Scripture is the Word of God and have a
deep respect for God's presence in that Word.
A person willing to complete a parish formation process.
Lent Spiritual Events: The time before Easter and Christmas is unique. The parish offers Stations of The Cross and other endeavors to ready us for these days of Faith.
Marriage Preparation: The local Parishes in Barrie offer Marriage Preparation.
Mass For Anniversaries: Each Last Saturday the 9:00 a.m. Mass is offered for those celebrating their anniversaries that month. Sign your name and number of years in the book at the High School entrance any Sunday.

Ministry to Educate Roman Catholic Youth is an opportunity for youth
grades 2 - 6 to come together once a month to learn about the richness of
the Catholic faith in a dynamic way. MERCY will focus on explaining the
"whys" of our faith integratign Praise and Worship music, various speakers,
group activities, games and snacks. MERCY will be one Friday night a month,
from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Ministry Affirmation ( Screening) Parish Committee that assists in discerning the gifts, talents and ministry of fellow parishioners. Also assists with the screening process in certain areas of ministry.

Polish Holy Rosary Society is a religious organization of women, men, children and youth in the community of the Holy Spirit Parish and it has prayer-formation character, It was established on October 4th, 1998. Members of the Polish Holy rosary Society unite their own goals with apostolic aspirations of the Catholic Church through daily pleading prayer, considering intentions of rosary, they have an aim to motivate everyone to apostolic action, that is an expression of the Love od God and the love of one's neighbour. Associates study thoroughly piousness of Holy Mary and following her in faith, put themselves, thier reatives and friends into hands of Jesus Christ. They obtain this by a regular sacramental live, common prayers, retreats, peregrinations, services of the first Saturdays of the month, responding to Holy Mary's calls, preservation and participation in Church services as well as continuation of Christian traditions and culture, We invite all members of the Polish community to join Polish Holy rosary Society. Mass: On the Wednesday before
August14th a Mass is offered in honour of Mary’s Assumption into heaven.
St.Vincent Group:
The parish is involved in the local Food Bank and parishioners help in
assisting the poor and those in need in the community. Also manages the
Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas Hampers and Spring Clothing Drive
Ushers: Dedicated to helping parishioners within the church each week at all Masses. They welcome parishioners at the doord of our church, hand out hymnals and bulletins and take up the collection
Welcoming
Committee:Sends out letters of
welcome as well as Baptismal and Wedding Anniversary cards. Sponsor a
yearly wine and cheese welcome for newly registered parishioners.
Workshops
on Spirituality: There are many
parish avenues such as the women’s; annual retreat day and guest speakers
within other groups that are offered time to time by the parish and diocese.
Youth Ministry:
Pre- Teen Youth, aged grade 6, 7, 8 meet for various activities within
the church. See the Sunday bulletin.
High School youth are involved with many ministies in the Church. They
meet every second Thursday at the Rectory Chapel.
